On-Demand Services
Deep tests that run once on demand — beyond what the regular scheduled probes do
What are on-demand services?
Your regular scheduled probes write a small 4KB test file every 5–60 minutes to check connectivity and basic latency. On-demand services go deeper — they stress test your filesystem, measure real throughput, and diagnose all your connectors at once. Use them when you suspect a problem, before a production launch, or to investigate why a probe is showing degraded.
COMING SOON
Large file throughput
$1.00 per run
Writes 100MB–1GB in segments to your filesystem and measures write and read speed per segment. What you get: avg write MB/s · avg read MB/s · per-segment breakdown · burst credit exhaustion flag
When to use: Your filesystem probe shows Degraded. This confirms whether EFS burst credits are exhausted.
COMING SOON
Contention test
$1.50 per run
Large write + simultaneous small probes. Measures how badly concurrent I/O degrades your filesystem. What you get: baseline write ms · under-load write ms · contention factor
When to use: Your app slows when another process writes large files. Critical for shared NFS/EFS mounts.
COMING SOON
Full diagnostic
$2.50 per report
Runs SSH, HTTPS, and Filesystem probes simultaneously. Returns a combined health snapshot with detailed results from each connector. What you get: SSH latency · FS write/read ms · HTTPS response time · combined verdict
When to use: Something is wrong and you don't know which layer. Run this first.

Getting started
Quick start — onboard your first environment
Create an environment, add SSH credentials, run your first probe
Adding SSH credentials and endpoints
Private keys, passwords, host configuration — all connector types
Configuring HTTPS probe endpoints
Health check URLs, expected status codes, auth headers
Firewall rules — IPs to whitelist
Allow ConnectWatch to reach your servers on port 22
Setting up a dedicated probe user on your server
Isolated user with minimum permissions — recommended security practice
